The Society for the Progress of Science

The foundation stone of the society was laid down by foresight of Dr.J.N. Kapoor. Me was a dedicated vice-chancellor of C.C.S. University, Meerut and Ex. Prof, and Head of Mathematics Department, I.I T. Kanpur. The journal Acta Ciencia Indica was established by Mr. K.K. Mittal (founder Pragati Prakashan) along with Dr. V.P. Kudesia (Ex. Reader, Department of Chemistry, D.N. College, Meerut), Dr. S.C. Agarwal (Head of Mathematics Department, D.N. College, Meerut), Dr. A.N. Pandcy (Reader Physics Department, Meerut College, Meerut). They together held the command of the journal and helped it attained its current place.

Beside these other flag bearers of the society arc Dr. B,S. Rajput and Dr. S.C. Agarwal. Dr. B.S. Rajput is an Ex. Vice-Chancellor of H.N.B. Garhwal University and Kumaun University, Nanital. He has to his credit some of the best selling books in M.Sc. Physics. Dr. S.C. Agarwal is an Ex. Prof, and Head of Mathematics Department, C.C.S. University, Meerut and is currently the director of Shobhit University, Meerut. Ail the members of this society have worked together and have taken the journal to its current position of international repute.
